Ideally, you should clean your pool at least once a week. This includes skimming the surface, brushing the walls and floor, and vacuuming any debris

You typically need chlorine or bromine (sanitizers), pH increaser and decreaser, alkalinity increaser, calcium hardness increaser, and algaecide

Test the water regularly using a pool test kit. To adjust pH, use pH increaser (soda ash) to raise it or pH decreaser (muriatic acid) to lower it. Adjust chlorine levels by adding more chlorine or using a stabilizer

Maintain proper chemical levels, especially chlorine. Regularly brush the pool surfaces and use algaecide as a preventive measure

Remove and clean skimmer baskets weekly. For filters, backwash sand and DE filters as needed and clean cartridge filters every 2-4 weeks, depending on usage
